CD DER ZAUBERLEHRLING
Over 100 tuned glasses, a microtonal harmonium, home-made harmonica instruments, strings, four recorders, a trumpet, an accordion and two clarinets: this is the unusual setup for two compositions by Simon Rummel, which were performed at a sold-out concert in St. Maria im Kapitol as part of this year's Acht-Brücken-Festival for contemporary music in Cologne. The "On Water Orchestra", consisting of 35 musicians from Cologne's independent music scene, was founded especially for this event. The music invites you to listen to the mysterious cosmos of microtonal tone combinations. The CD ist published by the →impakt collective and available on →bandcamp, where you can as well listen to it. The physical object comes in the "classic" impakt design. Inside are some photos, a replica of the entry ticket to the concert, a 4-page booklet and a beautiful watercolour drawing by Heidrun Brocker. Edition of 600.
